Are You Serious Enough About Success in Your REI Business to Invest Like a Franchisee?

JeffJuly 5, 2023

I’m an avid reader of Entrepreneur Magazine, which often features lists of the top franchises in the world. After seeing one of their most recent lists, I was surprised by how much money it takes to start each franchise. Of the top 10 franchises in the world, the lowest start-up cost was $45,000, and eight of the top 10 had start-up costs ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. The top honor, though, went to a taco franchise that cost a lofty $3.4 million to start a single restaurant. This got me… read more

I am 58 years old, and it seems like almost every one of my friends are either retired already or thinking about retiring in the next couple of years. I only know of one person that is close to my age who is not contemplating retirement anytime soon. Some are enjoying it, and some are bored to tears. I know of three people who retired and within one year were already back looking for a new job. I will admit, all this talk about retirement has me thinking about it as well. In America, for some… read more

Trust Your Gut

JeffJuly 14, 2021

We are taught from a young age to trust doctors, lawyers, teachers, and other professionals because they are the “experts” and much wiser than us. We are to follow their advice without question. Unfortunately, after 58 years, I have learned from the school of hard knocks that the “experts” with letters after their name are often either wrong, uninformed, or intentionally pushing you in a direction that is not to your benefit because they have an agenda. A common joke I am sure you have heard… read more
